Ask whether the wall or floor is suitable for the tiles you have chosen. Large tiles, uneven floors and wet areas need particular planning. Agree the layout, edge trims, grout and treatment of corners before fitting starts. These small decisions are much harder to change once the tiles are down.

A clearer quote
Preparation, tile size, cutting, pattern and access affect labour. Removal of old tiles, levelling and any waterproofing may be separate items. Ask who supplies adhesives, grout and trims as well as the tiles themselves, and allow for agreed wastage.

You can choose a style, but confirm suitability and quantities before ordering. The material and dimensions affect both preparation and fitting.
Sometimes, but the existing surface, added thickness and surrounding fittings need assessing. Ask for the proposed approach to be explained.
Do not assume so. For wet areas, agree who prepares and waterproofs the background and where that responsibility sits in the overall project.
Include photographs and say whether you have spare matching tiles. Ask about the cause of the damage and the likely appearance of a repair.
