Why Pinnacle exists

Cowboy builders have cost homeowners their savings and good tradespeople their reputation. Most platforms check the company rather than the person behind it, so the ones who turn up and do the work properly get tarred with the same brush.

Pinnacle vets the individual. Our founder, Graham Nash, has spent 25 years helping families rebuild after they were let down, more than 500 of them, sometimes out of his own pocket. That standard is why tradespeople join, and it is why the businesses listed beside them are checked too.

For you that matters in a practical way: every trade reading your listing has been vetted before they got here, on ID, insurance, qualifications and references, and homeowners running projects on Pinnacle see it too. It is a smaller audience than a directory you can buy your way into, and a considerably better qualified one.

How a listing works

Being listed is being findable, not being sold for. Nobody is sent your details without asking for them.

  1. Apply

    Tell us what you supply, where you are and how far you deliver or travel. It takes a few minutes.

  2. We check you

    Your company registration, your trading history and anything you have told us you hold. A person does this, and rings you to go through it: anything you hold that the form has no box for, a licence, a registration, a scheme membership, is told to us on that call. We come back to you either way.

  3. Your listing goes live

    You appear in the directory under the categories you cover, to anyone searching near you.

  4. They ask for your details

    A vetted tradesperson, or a homeowner running a project here, reads your listing and asks for your contact details. That is the point at which you hear from them.

  5. You take it from there

    The conversation is yours. We do not quote for you, take the order, or add anything to what you charge.

What we check

Your company registration and trading history, the services you list and how far you travel. If you tell us your business is registered under the relevant sector scheme for temporary traffic management, or that your operatives hold the cards it requires, we record it and check it, because the tradesperson relying on you needs to know somebody has.

Being checked is the point of the directory. A trade choosing a supplier here knows somebody looked, which is not something they can assume anywhere else, and it is why we would rather list fewer businesses properly than many on trust.

We record how many times somebody asked for a listed business's details, because that is the figure that means something rather than how many times a page happened to show you.

We are building a view for suppliers that will show you your own. It is not live yet, and we will tell you when it is rather than counting it as a reason to join today.

Questions trade suppliers ask

Can I say I handle the permits?

On your website, which your listing links to, and in the call. Whether you deal with the council and the permit on the tradesperson's behalf is the thing they most want to know, so make the website answer it.

Will Pinnacle send me work?

No. The tradesperson whose job needs the road finds your listing and rings you. We do not route jobs, and we are not part of what you agree.

Who searches for traffic management?

Vetted groundworkers, drainage firms and scaffolders with a job near you that needs the road or the pavement closed.

Traffic management is local. How far will I be shown?

As far as you tell us you cover. Pick a radius on the form and searches within it are ordered by distance with the closest shown first, which suits a business that knows one council's roads better than the next one's.
